One Year of “Synthwave!” – A Musical Anniversary

Today, on September 7, 2026, my album “Synthwave!” celebrates its first anniversary.

Exactly one year ago, on September 7, 2025, the album was released and opened the door to a musical world that still remains very special to me today.

“Synthwave!” grew out of my fascination with the atmosphere of the 1980s — neon lights, nighttime cities, endless roads, futuristic soundscapes, and that unique feeling somewhere between memory, nostalgia, and a vision of the future as it was once imagined.

For me, however, this album was never just about recreating a certain musical style.

As with many of my albums, I wanted to create a world of its own. Every song was meant to have its own character while still being part of a larger overall picture.

Some tracks feel like a nighttime drive through a glowing city. Others feel like memories of places that may never have truly existed. Some are quieter and more dreamlike, while others carry that special sense of distance, movement, and discovery.

Many months of work went into creating this album, which makes it all the more meaningful for me to look back on it now, one year later.

My musical path under the name Kevin Hagemeier continues, and the first releases from my next planned album are already scheduled for 2027.

A new chapter of my own discography will therefore begin next year.

Until then, I would like to use this anniversary as another opportunity to thank everyone who has listened to, streamed, discovered, or supported “Synthwave!” throughout the past year.

Every album is a part of my musical story, and it means a great deal to me to know that this music is now reaching people far beyond my own studio.

Happy 1st Anniversary, “Synthwave!”

The journey continues.
