Musician · Producer · Songwriter

Kevin Hagemeier is a German musician, producer, and songwriter whose musical career spans more than two decades.

Since 1997, he has been releasing music under his own name, developing a distinctive musical identity over many years. His solo releases under the name Kevin Hagemeier were created without the use of AI and document a continuous artistic evolution – from early electronic works and melodic concept albums to atmospheric releases such as Firework of Emotions, Sounds From Outer Space, Homecoming and Synthwave!.

At the center of his work has always been more than just the individual song. Kevin Hagemeier often thinks of music as a connected world: as a soundscape, an atmosphere, a feeling, an image in the mind. Many of his albums follow their own mood, inner dramaturgy or overarching theme. What can now be made more visible and audible through modern production tools was already present in his music early on: the desire to create unique musical worlds from sound, emotion and imagination.

Alongside his music under his own name, Kevin Hagemeier now develops several conceptual music projects. ECHOWELTEN, The AudioCanvas Project and Aeternum Lexicona are created with the involvement of modern AI-supported tools. These projects are clearly distinct from his solo releases: while the music released under the name Kevin Hagemeier was created without AI assistance, he consciously uses AI in these projects as an expanded creative and production tool.

Kevin Hagemeier does not understand AI as a replacement for artistic ideas, but as a means of realizing concepts, sound worlds and atmospheric visions that would be difficult, or only very limited, to achieve through conventional means alone. The possibilities of AI-supported music production have become very extensive – and in his projects, this potential is consciously, creatively and carefully explored.

The starting point is not the press of a button, but a concept. Before each album, a clear artistic direction is developed: What story should be told? What atmosphere should the work carry? Which sound colors, voices, instruments and moods fit this world? Only from these decisions does the musical production process begin.

So-called prompts play an important role in this process. Prompts are precise written instructions used to guide AI systems musically. They describe, among other things, genre, tempo, instrumentation, sound color, atmosphere, vocals, structure and the emotional effect of a song. These prompts are developed, reviewed and refined by Kevin Hagemeier himself. In this way, AI is not used randomly, but guided intentionally.

Themes, album concepts, song ideas, visual ideas and the final artistic direction also arise from Kevin Hagemeier’s own imagination. Modern tools may be used supportively in the linguistic development, translation or further refinement of individual lyrics; however, the creative direction, selection, evaluation and final decision remain part of his personal artistic process.

ECHOWELTEN tells large symbolic and emotional stories in an electronic-classical form. The AudioCanvas Project understands music as a canvas for different genres, languages and moods. Aeternum Lexicona is dedicated to the atmospheric reinterpretation of ancient texts, myths and literary works.

In this way, Kevin Hagemeier combines his long-standing musical development with the possibilities of modern technology. At the center of his work is not only the question of how a song sounds, but which world it opens.
